Cambridge 2000: St John's Innovation Park: Cowley Road: St John's Innovation Centre
Description: St John's Innovation Park: Cowley Road: St John's Innovation Centre |
Date built: 1987 |
Architect: R H Partnership |
Much of the current wealth of Cambridge is driven by hi-tech
companies. Trinity College established the first science park in
Cambridge in 1970 on a large plot of land off Milton Road.
St John's developed their own science park across Milton Road
from Trinity's in 1987, and has expanded several times since then.
The Trinity science park generally has larger companies,
the St John's science park generally has smaller companies.
The interior of the St John's Innovation Centre has walls
which are easily movable, providing flexible accommodation.
It does this while still having an attractive exterior.
