Cambridge 2000: Brooks Road: St Stephen's Church
Located on the corner of Brooks Road and Coldham's Lane,
and opposite
Sainsbury's,
this was a very noticeable A-frame building, one of a few
in the city of that style, and from that era.
In 1967 the same architect designed a vestry for the church.
In the 1980s the building was vacated by St Stephen's after
they merged with St Philip's, on Mill Road. In 2010 the site
was sold to the Cambridge Community Church in order to
help fund a major renovation of St Philip's.
In July 2014 the building was demolished, and replaced by
a much bigger one.
