Cambridge 2000: King's Hedges Road: Future Business Centre
The idea behind the building is to be an incubator for businesses
which are deemed to be socially or environmentally responsible, and as such
it was part funded by government, including the EU.
The building itself is pleasant enough, although at the eastern end (at the
right in the photo) the façade was left in bare concrete, and the
finish is not very nice. 5th Studio did the master plan for the site
(which includes the nearby
SmartLIFE Low Carbon Centre).
TP Bennett contributed to the design of the internal layout.
Saunders Boston were the executive architects.
