Cam Flood Photographs: February 2001
Cambridge 2000 flood home page
Cambridge largely avoided flooding in the last few months of 2000, when
several other parts of England were badly affected. However the Cam finally
flooded on 5 and especially 6 February 2001, after a heavy downpour on 3 and 4
February onto the already sodden ground. This seems to be a couple of times
in a lifetime experience for Cambridge, with the last time being around 25
years ago. By 7 February the Cam had fallen a couple of feet and only a
few pools were left as a reminder of what had happened.
