One of the most beautiful buildings in Cambridge, especially remarkable because it is designed to hold oil test rigs. The fibre roof is a hallmark of Hopkins, used later, for example, in the Mound Stand at Lord's Cricket Ground in London. The building is sometimes lit up at night and is then a treat for those driving up the M11.
There was a later, more conventional, building added at the back.
