The chapel is fairly small and dark inside, with notable stained glass windows along the sides having been added in the 1850s.
Matthew Wren, the uncle of Christopher Wren, was Master of Peterhouse at the time when the chapel was built, although it was not finished until 1665.
It is not known who the architect of the chapel was.
The open colonnades on either side of the chapel are unusual for Cambridge.
