Cambridge 2000: Ditton Lane: St Vincent de Paul, 30
Description: Ditton Lane: St Vincent de Paul, 30 |
Date built: 1920s |
Certainly the least lavish church in the city, something you
might expect to find in an urban slum area in a poor country,
but charming because of its colour. (A couple of years after
the photo was taken the building was repainted in an insipid
yellow and brown. In 2010 it was repainted again, in a brighter
yellow.)
The building was originally located next to the
Catholic Church
but was moved to Chesterton and then to this location in the
1930s.
