A nondescript 1950s boatman's house on the site (just visible to the right in the photo of the main boathouse taken in 2000) was demolished to make way for this new extension, which provides training facilities and a flat. The young tree in the foreground is a replacement for a magnificent but half-dead horse chestnut tree which was felled as part of the development.
