Cambridge 2000: Puddicombe Way: Kingston House
This is the west most of four blocks, with a total of 292 flats,
intended for "key workers" (i.e. public sector workers), in
particular doctors and nurses who work at
Addenbrooke's Hospital.
It was built on a parking lot.
There are no sensible shopping facilities nearby so in effect
this has added a residential ghetto in the midst of an existing
hospital and biomedical research ghetto, in a similar way to
what happened on the university's
West Cambridge site.
As is nearly mandatory in most developments, there are solar
panels on the roof.
