Cambridge 2000: university: Madingley Road: Battcock Centre for Experimental Astrophysics
Astronomy and astrophysics research in Cambridge has been split
between two sites on either side of Madingley Road, in the
Institute of Astronomy
(IOA) and in the
Cavendish.
This building finally allows all such research to be located on
one site, situated around a grass courtyard, with the IOA on
one side. The Battcock building uses the same kind of red brick
as used in the IOA.
