Walter Janes and Frances White Census
Cambridge 2000 home page
This is a project to create a census of Walter Janes and Frances White "stained glass" windows, mosaics and other glass-related items,
which are located in what could be considered to be publicly viewable buildings, mainly churches.
This includes sites that no longer have any items.
The information is available in various ways:
Walter Janes (1869-1945) worked for Tiffany Glass and Decorating Company before setting
out on his own in 1894. His sister, (Mary) Frances Janes White (1861-1945), designed
many of the figural windows. They lasted in the stained glass business until around 1913.
The main sources for the compilation are newspaper and journal articles.
Current count: number of sites = 20, number of items = 28, number of item photos = 26.
