Westminster Memorial Studios Census
Cambridge 2000 home page
This is a project to create a census of Westminster Memorial Studios "stained glass" windows, mosaics and other glass-related items,
which are located in what could be considered to be publicly viewable buildings, mainly churches.
This includes sites that no longer have any items.
The information is available in various ways:
Westminster Memorial Studios was founded in late 1937 out of the ashes of
Tiffany Studios. The most important employee was Agnes Northrop (1857-1953),
and others included Charles Nussbaum (1882-1946) and later Oscar Julius (1882-1965).
The firm lasted in the stained glass business until around the mid 1950s.
The main sources for the compilation are signatures of the firm on windows,
although there are also some newspaper and journal articles.
Current count: number of sites = 11, number of items = 28, number of item photos = 19, number of signature photos = 18.
