As part of the proposal for the spine relief road the authors of the 1950 report included a re-design of the Histon Road - Huntingdon Road - Victoria Road junction. The spine relief road was never built but even so a re-design of the junction along the lines suggested would have made some sense. This also never happened and the junction today is a mess, exacerbated by the closure of Bridge Street to through traffic in 1997.
