Originally a building for British Telecom (BT), from 1998 it served as the second main building for UCLES, and closer to the centre of the city than the other one.

In 2005 the university changed the name of the organisation to Cambridge Assessment.

In 2018 Cambridge Assessment moved to a new building on Shaftesbury Road.

In 2021-2022 the building was retrofitted to house the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, and named the Entopia Building.
