The 1930s building is mostly hidden behind the 1980s extension at the front. Over the years the congregation submitted planning applications to extend the building, but these were refused because of the impact on neighbouring properties.
In 2026, permission was granted to demolish the building and replace it with one designed by Allies and Morrison.
